Planet of the Apes on the Spanish Channel

I speak a little espanol and have seen the movie before, so I could follow it kind of. My father also watched it recently and was really confused. He speaks no espanol. In fact, he didn't even know he was watching Spanish Channel for a while, and just thought the apes were speaking some strange and made up language like Warf in Star Trek. All I know is that if genetic babies become all the rage, pop and I will be the first against the wall, because my dads genes are my genes and I figure there will no room in the 21st century for the likes of us.
